Anyone who knows me at all knows that my favorite director/writer of all-time is Akira Kurosawa . There are few people in the history of the medium who have pushed the limits of storytelling and cinematography like Mr. Kurosawa did. Before his death in 1998, Kurosawa's films were "re-imagined" by some of the most notable filmmakers of our generation and those of our parents. Films such as Star Wars, A Fistful of Dollars and The Magnificent Seven could never have been made if it wasn't for Kurosawa's vision and storytelling prowess. I recently stumbled upon a site that showcases "re-imagined" trailers for films. Two of the trailers are for two of my favorite Kurosawa films: Shichinin no samurai (1954's The Seven Samurai) and Yojimbo which was eventually made into Eastwood's classic spaghetti western, A Fistfull of Dollars.
