The Week in Review We got up early, drove over to the airport and waited in the huge line (at fucking 7 am?) worming it's way through Oakland/Alameda airport. After what seemed like hours (probably cause that's how long it took) we arrived at the ticket counter to check in our bags where we were informed that: a) we would not be leaving until after 5 pm... maybe and b) if we missed the rescheduled flight, we would forfeit our tickets. This second part was at issue because we considered taking another flight, with another airline and just get Sun Trips to reimburse our airfare... So, we decided to just wait it out at a movie (Bourne Identity) which was fun under the circumstances. Needless to say, our vacation started out with the worst possible scenario which is to say, our vacation began in Oakland. As soon as we arrived in Maui though, things got increasingly better. Aside from the usual Hawaiian fare (snorkeling, sunning, eating) we also splurged on a helicopter tour of Maui. It rocked. Although I've done the Helicopter thing before, this one was infinitely better since the guide at least pretended to be enjoying himself. If you go to Maui, you owe it to yourself to take a helicopter tour and make sure it's with these guys.
