I'm living in 1987 today. I just finished watching a handful of videos that were made during that year and it brought a flood of memories that made me smile. I can safely say that 1987 was a good year. Not in terms of breakthrough video production or even music but those videos reminded me of a time that was simple, unencumbered and innocent (relatively speaking of course). Great things happened to me in 1987. I bought my first brand new car. I was in college, working at Sony Corporation of America doing QA on TV sets and getting paid ungodly sums of money for an 18 year old. I lived with my two best friends from high school and I had a circle of friends who partied like rockstars every weekend but could still be chill, hanging out at home watching some sporting event. We had BBQs that are still spoken of in hushed, awed tones. I began writing things that impressed my friends, teachers and random people who read them.
That said, I believe that 2003 is going to be my year. A year in which I rise to the occasion and carve out a piece of this world for my very own. Success is within reach and I only have to close my hand to capture it. Every feel that way?
